Twenty years ago the U.S. had come through a disputed presidential election. A prosperous decade had turned over to a new millennium, the federal government had experienced four years of balanced budgets and the national debt was a manageable $5 trillion. 9/11 had not yet happened though the signs were present. When 9/11 did occur, the country experienced a surge of patriotism – how surprising it would have been to consider that twenty years later patriotism had waned, the country was more divided than at any point in memory, freedom and liberty were at risk, and both domestic and foreign factions were advancing an effort to fundamentally transform the U.S. away from its founding principles.
Police were heroic First Responders and the U.S. Military told wherever they went “thank you for your service.” By 2020 confidence in police was at a record low according to Gallup while Departments struggle to hire new officers. The Armed Forces are falling short of enlistment quotas and members of the Military suffer under Biden Administration policies implemented by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. The vaccine mandate was finally rescinded at the end of 2022, but that is of no solace to service members who had previously refused the shots for whom separation will be maintained and many forced to pay back enlistment bonuses. Blame for the catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021 falls solely on the Biden Administration’s cataclysmic mismanagement – abandoning Americans and Afghan allies, leaving billions worth of military equipment, and restoring a breeding ground for terrorism. But worst of all was the tragic deaths of thirteen U.S. service members losing their lives to a suicide bomber during the chaotic evacuation and their families suffering the indignity of Joe Biden checking his watch numerous times during the dignified transfer of their remains at Dover Air Force Base.
The election that accelerated the transformation was not 2020, but rather 2016 – Hillary Clinton was not expected to lose and if she had won, the transformation would have continued from President Obama, but more gradually. The fact that President Trump won, touting the “Make America Great Again” nationalist slogan that appealed to “the forgotten men and women” of flyover country was the worst possible outcome for the ruling class of both parties, the “deep state,” and globalists desiring to “reset our world.” This is why there were so many efforts to take him out, from “Crossfire Hurricane” to Russian Collusion to Impeachment. His performance as president, except for exploding the national debt, was successful and he deserved reelection.
There are many things about the 2020 election both in terms of rule changes and statistical anomalies that defy logic, but there is no longer a playing field on which to contest them. Though the radical For the People Act (H.R.1) giving Washington greater control over elections did not pass, many COVID-19 related accommodations were maintained, making elections less secure and more vulnerable to fraud. It can be argued that many of these policies impacted the 2022 mid-term elections. A concentration on those in power and the mechanisms by which they will overtly or covertly make their national and global transformation a reality is paramount as is avoidance of distractions like anonymous leaks and QAnon type conspiracies.
Predictions and Warnings Beyond 2020
President Biden, whether he knows it or not, is a figurehead and not a leader – he will support and sign whatever he is told. The true nexus of power is amongst the Democrats in Congress, members of the Biden administration, the media, the Deep State and the groups identified by Molly Ball in the “Shadow Campaign” Time article discussed in “Under Assault – First Amendment Right to Assemble and Petition.” In the background are Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) – the United Nations, World Economic Forum, World Health Organization, International Monetary Fund, and others.
What links all these groups together is climate change activism – they profess that anthropogenic (human caused) global warming (AGW) is a settled issue, and if global carbon dioxide emissions do not reach “net zero” by 2050 the worst effects of climate change will be unavoidable. The measuring stick is average global temperature compared to pre-industrial levels. The IPCC claims it has already risen 1 degree Celsius and is on track to warm an additional 1.5 degrees between 2030 and 2052. They claim that it must not go beyond 1.5 degrees total by 2050; 2 degrees of warming is the point beyond which the worst consequences will be realized.
In January 2021 President Biden signed a host of executive actions and reengaged the U.S. in the Paris Climate Agreement. Just prior, John Kerry admitted that further U.S. efforts won’t make much difference. “Not when almost 90 percent of all of the planet’s global emissions come from outside of U.S. borders. We could go to zero tomorrow and the problem isn’t solved.” In fact, according to the UN Environment Program 2020 Emissions Gap Report, the U.S. and EU+UK have reduced both absolute and per capita emissions. Absolute is the more important measure from a global perspective. China continues a steep increase in absolute emissions, at present more than double that of the U.S., though per capita is roughly half. Both China, responsible for 30% of absolute emissions, and India are considered Developing Nations and not subject to standards applied to Developed Nations.
The factions seeking transformation are not a majority in terms of numbers, but are with regard to power and control. A June 2020 Pew Research study reported that among U.S. adults 24% felt global climate change is affecting their local community “a great deal” with 39% saying “some.” Concern has been growing in recent years, particularly among Democrats. However, Pew polled registered voters in August 2020 about important issues and climate change rated 11 out of 12 choices. These are the commoners – the unaffected elite don’t much value their opinion but do assume to know what is best for them, and will employ lockdowns for climate reasons or continue the Biden energy strategy that raises the cost of heating, driving, manufacturing, transportation of goods, and commodities.
An oft repeated meme during the COVID-19 pandemic is “follow the science” though this may not actually happen if conclusions don’t serve the ruling class. The CDC, WHO, Dr. Anthony Fauci, teachers unions and others have moved the goalposts when convenient. Is it reasonable to question climate change as “settled science?” Anyone who does is automatically labeled a “climate denier” or “flat earther” and is scorned. Is it possible that it is not a settled issue but rather a mechanism to advance a crisis to pass laws and regulations, and have a populace acquiesce to lockdowns or other measures for climate reasons? If John Kerry is right about global emissions, is it reasonable for U.S. citizens to accept limits on freedom, economic malaise, a lower standard of living and shrinking middle class?
